IT purchasing has always been a challenge for state and local governments. Juggling multiple contracts and approved vendor lists make it difficult to figure out where to go for the things you need.

Fortunately, Oklahoma’s recent CIO consolidation has simplified IT purchasing and made it easier than ever for state and local entities to get what they need, when they need it.

Easy purchasing under one umbrella

Earlier this year, the Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) approved ITSW1025, a statewide IT staffing and purchasing schedule that consolidates and simplifies many of the previous purchasing schedules. It is also part of the Governor’s Open Range, shared services initiative and makes it easy for local and State entities to leverage pre-existing contracts and technology.

This is great news for those who’ve been struggling with IT purchases and we’re happy to see the state move in this direction. A simplified purchasing process helps us spend less time on paperwork and approvals and more on providing great service.

If you’re unsure about which category your project falls under, give us a call and we can help. OMES has been hard at work re-categorizing services and there are still some categories that are bit confusing, but overall the classification is much clearer than it has been in the past.

You can also contact us if you have general questions about purchasing under ITSW1025. If we don’t have the answer we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
